George Harold Mortimer, Son of John and Mary Alice Mortimer, of 68 Tong road, Armley, Leeds, Joined the “pals” on the 3^rd of September 1914, and served

with C company in Colsterdale, Egypt and France.

When the “Pals” left the trenches on the 1^st of July 1916, George Mortimer was killed after advancing only a few yards towards the enemy.

He is buried in Serre No.1 Cemetery, France.
