Born Garforth Leeds 1897.
Hubert Hindell Mountain was the eldest of two boys born to James Hindell Mountain and his wife Emma, of 49, Shaftsbury Avenue, Roundhay, Leeds.
He joined up underage at 17, on the 4th of September 1914,and served with number 5 platoon of B company in Colsterdale Egypt and France.
Hubert survived the war and was Discharged on the 27th of March 1919.
During the Second World War his son Maurice Geoffrey Mountain lost his life aged 19 on the 30th of May 1940 with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.
He is commemorated on the Lawnswood Cemetery memorial, Leeds.
