Charles Galloway Greaves lived at 58 Smallwell Road, Pudsey, Leeds, West Yorkshire.
Working as a vanman at the time of his enlistment with the 'Pals' in September 1914, trained at Colsterdale in North Yorkshire. He saw service in Egypt and France where, like so many of his fellow 'Pals', was killed in action during the Battle of the Somme on the 1st July 1916.
His only son, was 1 year old when his Father was killed and served with the British Army during the Second World War.
